How to Use the Exit Site Monitor Web Part

‚ÄčIn this web part there aren't any user configuration settings. The closest thing to this would be your personal styling of the pop-up box that appears when users click a link that is outside of the current site collection.

The file is called EXITSITE.CSS and it's located in the \Style Library\ folder of the installed site collection. Unless you are suitably trained in CSS and HTML it is not advisable to make changes to this file as you may create an undesirable layout or presentation to your users.

The #overlay section is the layer that is positioned over the current working area.

#overlay {
     visibility: hidden;
     position: absolute;
     left: 0px;
     top: 0px;
     width:100%;
     height:100%;
     text-align:center;
     z-index: 1000;
     background-image:url('/_layouts/images/ExitSite/semi-transparent.gif');
     background-repeat:repeat;
}

The div for the overlay is the actual display that is shown to the user.

#overlay div {
     width:300px;
     margin: 100px auto;
     background-color: #fff;
     border:3px solid #000;
     padding:15px;
     text-align:center;
     height:100px;
     filter:alpha(opacity=100);
     opacity:1;
     z-index: 1001;
}

The body is used to ensure that the body height is forced to 100%. This is essential for the semi-transparent background.
body {
     height:100%;
     margin:0;
     padding:0;
}

This controls the positioning of the close link in the pop-up.

.overlay-link {
    position: relative;
    width:90%;
    height:50px;
}
